WILL YOU ACCEPT THE CHALLENGE TO TAKE ON INNOVATION IN HEALTH CARE?
What is a hackathon?
Traditionally, a hackathon is a competitive event where participants are divided into groups, where a team of designers, developers, and subject matter experts collaborate with the teams to create solutions for a specific problem within a defined time frame. The goal is to build a working prototype/concept, in the form of a website, an app, or a robot, to solve a designated problem.
It is a great exercise to explore new technologies, work on a topic you are passionate about, and build a working proof-of-concept in a short span of time. It’s also an opportunity to network and collaborate with people who are passionate about building products and finding solutions to the problems.
At the FIP Hackathon, this concept will be applied to finding innovative solutions for healthcare challenges!
Do you want to be at the forefront of digital health and innovation? Join us at FIP Hackathon!
Technology is changing the daily practice of pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists. In order to ensure best pharmaceutical treatments and services tailored to our patients, pharmacists and pharmaceutical scientists should become the main actors in the development of new concepts and solutions based on their experience, creativity and innovations in digital health.
According to the World Health Organization (WHO), eHealth is defined as the “cost-effective and secure use of information communication technologies (ICT) in support of health and health-related fields, including health-care services, health surveillance, health literature, and health education, knowledge and research”.
Additionally, eHealth involves a range of procedures, tools and initiatives that use electronic means to deliver information and services in relation to health care. The goal is to improve the quality of health information, strengthening national health systems and ensuring accessible and high-quality health care for all.
FIP Hackathon is a great platform for developing and designing new ideas which would, with the help of technology, solve pressing healthcare problems that participants will be presented with. In this way, together, we will contribute to innovations in the profession, enhance pharmacists’ and pharmaceutical scientists’ skills and knowledge. Participants will have the opportunity to receive trainings and workshops from leading experts to immerse into diverse areas of digital health technologies. Additionally, participants will have the opportunity to explore FIP Congress sessions in collaboration with their team members.
Don’t worry if you do not feel tech-savvy. Everyone is welcomed at the FIP Hackathon and our mentors will guide you through the session on design thinking, technology, and innovation. At the end of the FIP Hackathon, teams will pitch their ideas to an expert panel and the winning team will receive a special prize, including complimentary access to the congress gala dinner to celebrate their achievement together with all congress participants! All participants will be presented with a Certificate of Attendance upon completion of the workshop.
